Preface. Declares the treaty to be "in the name of the most holy and undivided Trinity," states the bona fides of the signatories, and declares the intention of both parties to "forget all past misunderstandings and differences" and "secure to both perpetual peace and harmony."

1. Acknowledging the 13 colonies to be free, sovereign and independent States, and that his Majesty relinquishes all his (and his heirs and successors) claims to the Government, propriety, and territorial rights of the same, and every part thereof;^[1]
2. Establishing the boundaries between the United States and British North America (for an account of two strange anomalies resulting from this part of the Treaty, based on inaccuracies in the Mitchell Map, see Northwest Angle and the Republic of Indian Stream);
3. Granting fishing rights to United States fishermen in the Grand Banks, off the coast of Newfoundland and in the Gulf of Saint Lawrence;
4. Recognizing the lawful contracted debts to be paid to creditors on either side;
5. The Congress of the Confederation will "earnestly recommend" to state legislatures to recognize the rightful owners of all confiscated lands "provide for the restitution of all estates, rights, and properties, which have been confiscated belonging to real British subjects [Loyalists]";
6. United States will prevent future confiscations of the property of Loyalists;
7. Prisoners of war on both sides are to be released and all property left by the British army in the United States unmolested (including slaves);
8. Great Britain and the United States were each to be given perpetual access to the Mississippi River;
9. Territories captured by Americans subsequent to treaty will be returned without compensation;
10. Ratification of the treaty was to occur within six months from the signing by the contracting parties.

Privileges which the Americans had received from Britain automatically when they had colonial status (including protection from pirates in the Mediterranean Sea in respect of which see: Barbary Wars) were withdrawn. Individual States ignored Federal recommendations, under Article 5, to restore confiscated Loyalist property, and also evaded Article 6 (e.g. by confiscating Loyalist property for "unpaid debts"). Some, notably Virginia, also defied Article 4 and maintained laws against payment of debts to British creditors. Individual British soldiers ignored the provision of Article 7 about removal of slaves. The real geography of North America turned out not to match the details given in the Canadian boundary descriptions. The Treaty specified a southern boundary for the United States, but the separate Anglo-Spanish agreement did not specify a northern boundary for Florida, and the Spanish government assumed that the boundary was the same as in the 1763 agreement by which they had first given their territory in Florida to Britain. While that dispute continued, Spain used its new control of Florida to block American access to the Mississippi, in defiance of Article 8.^[2] In the Great Lakes area, the British adopted a very generous interpretation of the stipulation that they should relinquish control "with all convenient speed", because they needed time to negotiate with the Native Americans, who had kept the area out of United States control, but had been completely ignored in the Treaty. Even after that was accomplished, Britain retained control as a bargaining counter in hopes of obtaining some recompense for the confiscated Loyalist property.^[3] This matter was finally settled by the Jay Treaty in 1794, and America's ability to bargain on all these points was greatly strengthened by the creation of the new constitution in 1787.

Only Article 1 remains in force as of 2009.^[4]

These rejects from The Olde World (whatever that means?) all represented historically cartoon Empires and cute Kingdoms (why not Queendoms now?) all led by emotionally disturbed socially and otherwise illiterate psychotics, by their own definitions, non of whom were elected by 'the people' to be Emperors, Kings, Queens, Princes, Princesses, (war) Lords, Laddies (Dames) religious leaders, hereditary Chiefs etc. all with tribal- and thus inherently racial- agendas for CommonWealth that today in 2009 would involve 6+ billion people in 200+ countries living like we're all in the movies or on TV?

DOES THE AMERICAN DREAM EXIST ANYWHERE ANYMORE?

Yes it does.... in Global Canada:

1. adequate food clothing and shelter for all Americans, especially in winter

2. access to a proper public (funded) grade school or better (higher?advanced?) education for all Americans provided by sane teachers employed by sane (State/Provincial) governments

3. adequate medical care for all Americans provided by sane medical professionals where, however, prostitution, politics, wrestling, crime, sales, acting and military service, for example, never have been, aren't now nor ever will be professions or sex a trade ---- Earth!

WHAT DOES THE AMERICAN DREAM, GLOBAL CANADA, HAVE TO DO WITH VANCOUVER BRITISH COLUMBIA???

The University of British Columbia, that defines all that's possibly civil and good in Vancouver BC, and which is the unofficial sponsor of SSWIGS, The Sane Senior-Citizens World Institute for Global Studies, has asked us, as a 'think tank', to promote Vancouver BC as the best possible model for a Global Village and CommonWealth for 6+ billion people in 200+ countries on Earth today to all live like The Average American does.

However, to put this ridiculous idea into a practical context, SSWIGS will refer to, instead, The Average Canadian "Family Unit" as defined by socially and otherwise illiterate psychotics, by their own definitions, at Statistics Canada, rather than the incredibly common ordinary everyday average American "Family Unit" in American movies and on American TV and/or how all American politicians, successful genius actors and others live.

Further, we will confine our observations of "Family Units" to only make fun of BC's comic rich and famous, wealthy and obviously emotionally disturbed, of BC's 151 year history of rejects from 'Great?' Britain, Europe, Asia and The USA all trying to re-create the creepy socially septic politically preposterous economically insane circumstances that got rid of them?

CANADA'S IDEAL (COMIC) FAMILY UNIT

To do this we (SSWIGS) have created an ideal Canadian "Family Unit"- of Statistics Canada employees- who they say, somehow, 2008 figures, scrape by with a mere $68,375.23 CAD of "Annual Taxable Family Income", about $1000 CAD a week of Disposable (after tax) Income, for about 10,000 average Canadian 'Family Units' of 3.67 'human resources*' living in a semi-detached-from reality?- $289, 375.56 CAD dwelling in, say, Vancouver BC?

As you can see, with about 10,000 Canadian "Family Units" in 2009, all earning about $68,375.23 CAD a year of "Taxable Family Income" requires about $68,375,230,000.02 CAD ($68 billion, 375 million, 230 thousand) for The Canadian Economy to generate, while, however, in real life in the real world, the 'top?' 20% of incomes in Canada garner about 80% of the wealth but pay only about 5% of the total taxes, allowing Canada's comic 'elite? to play house and play family in a manner that embarrasses sane Canadians internationally?

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY 'SANE CANADIANS'?

SSWIGS defines 'Sane Canadians' (and "Sane Americans') as anyone who votes for "Sane People" to occupy public (funded) office.

Today there seems, so far, to be a very limited audience on The Internet for English style, American improved Canadian perfected but evolving "Global Humor" including mercilessly flattering the life(as)styles of the rich and famoushttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_billionaires, i.e. wealthy and obviously emotionally disturbed, except in various places where there is "Sane Media" provided by sane broadcasters (orators) and sane publishers (journalists) adding to the past 5000 years or so of local* NEWS and subsequent literature about real life in the real world where each of us lives.

However, since Canada has no "Sane Media", no sane governments in public (funded) office and completely corrupt unionized 'education systems' teaching children rot, perhaps the only place for "Sane Canadians" to comment.... on these 'facts of life' is on The World Wide Web?

However, since only about 3% of The World's Population (of humans) has access to $1000+ (or any) computers and $100+ month "High Speed Internet" today.... perhaps it's incumbent on us (we the people) to, AT LEAST!!!!, vote for sane people to occupy public (funded) office wherever we live*?
